What does NAHVI do?

NAHVI addresses the long-term housing needs of blind and visually impaired young adults who may also have additional disabilities.

How much does it cost?

The clients make a weekly contribution.

How is NAHVI funded?

NAHVI is funded by the HSE.

What are the benefits to the residents who stay at NAHVI houses?

The benefits to the residents are numerous. NAHVI is about lifelong learning. It is about further development of independent living skills learned at St. Joseph's Centre for the Visually Impaired. The residents participate in a variety of in-house activities including music, pottery, cookery, horticulture, money management, community integration, mobility, technical skills, and household chores.

Does NAHVI provide any training for residents?

All NAHVI residents avail of our in-house training and some avail of additional training in services such as NCBI and Prosper Fingal.

Is there a time limit on the residents who avail of this service?

NAHVI is a home for life or for as long as an individual wishes to reside with us.
