Community
One of the key activities we encourage our residents to engage in is community integration. The community of Donabate have welcomed the NAHVI residents into their neighbourhood and there is a strong sense of community involvement in the area.
One local resident commented that having these young people living in the community has raised awareness among the young and not so young of the independence and ability of the blind and visually impaired.
"When I see these young people using public transport and all the local amenities with such confidence it never ceases to raise my spirits. My children look forward to their Fairs and also the Braille morning that is organised during the summer holidays."
